I've been playing the pipes for over 2 decades now. Because of my hobby, I've traveled through North America and the UK. I've also made some lifelong friends, and won personal and group accolades as well.
Here's a picture of my winning performance in Canmore.

I've been giving students private bagpipe lessons for over 10 years. I've been fortunate enough to have great instruction that has had a profound impact on my ability to perform at a high level. I love being able to give that back and help the community to continue to grow.
From 2015-2018 I ran the musical performance and competition instruction and curriculum of a youth pipe band. I help to transform the band from rarely competing (when doing so they'd often finished last) to a well-respected band, that often won its competitions.
I had to change my priorities for a couple of years and am now back as an instructor in a youth organization. It's the same organization where I got my start and introduction to the Scottish community. Today, I'm currently teaching/instructing the intermediate piping section. I'm giving them the necessary tools to develop, preparing them to enter the competitive band.
With a little luck and coincidence, my kids fell into this incredible sport and became passionate about the world of jump rope (skipping). My kids (pictured above) have appeared in many articles and news broadcasts. They also as won at the provincial and national levels setting records at both levels in the process.
I have the pleasure of helping out volunteering my time to help out with the demonstration team as well as a sourcing and creating club merchandise. Currently, my family and I are members of the Calgary-based SkipTime club.
